As a cancer survivor myself I know about all of the mental health care that we are provided to fully understand and process the trauma that we went through. But... What about the siblings? The siblings of cancer patients typically are not provided with all of the resources that the survivors are. I am here to change this. By Bringing awareness to this struggle and lack of action I hope that together we can all stop this mental health crisis.
Why?
My inspiration
When I was fighting my cancer, my sister saved my life. She is the strongest person I know. Because of this she has battled anxiety and PTSD due to my time in the hospital. Seeing the strongest person you know go through a struggle and there is nothing you can do to help them out of it is something that no one should have to do. This opened my eyes to the fact that there could be and probably are other siblings going through this.
